JIM FINNERTY CHEESE PLATE

We were approached by a key grip in the New York film & television industry to fabricate a multi camera mounting solution. Project goals were to mount 6 cinema style camera bodies to a camera car 3 front and 3 rear to allow for a full 360 degree panoramic shot that they could edit in post. The mounting plates had to have as many 3/8” holes on 1” centers as possible in order to create as many points of adjustment as possible.

We designed, programmed and CNC milled two semicircle cheese plates out of 5/8” thick 6061 aluminum. Each plate had a total of 663 holes to give as many mounting positions as possible.

Client received two 36” wide by 18” deep final plates that fit their needs perfectly. We even took the time to mill their name into the top of each one as an added bonus. At the end of the day, we were able to provide both the grips and the visual effects editors in post production a custom built solution that fit their needs.

GREY GOOSE  MOLDINGS FOR DOORWAY ARCH

Client requested custom profile hardwood curved moldings that would precisely match the radius of their arched photo opp nook. We took the clients' provided molding profile dimensions and radius of the arched photo opp and matched them up digitally to ensure a precise fit, then used dimensional hardwood lumber and milled each piece down using the CNC router to produce the finished pieces.

Thanks to our machine’s unmatched accuracy, we were able to precisely match the client’s exact molding profile to the contour of their archway to provide them an easy to install beautiful custom hardwood molding solution.

Mastro Custom Shaker-Style Cabinets with Beaded Center Panel

We were approached to recreate this classic style with modern technology on our CNC router. Client approached us to do a small production run of shaker-style cabinet doors with a reeded/beaded recessed center panel. We chose the material MEDEX because of its moisture resistant qualities, due to the damp nature of the environment it would be installed in. We produced these doors in two pieces in order to ensure the reeded geometry spanned the entire recessed area of the center panel to give a cleaner overall fit and finish. The final outcome could not have been possible on our clients deadline without the speed & precision of our CNC router.

FOAM MOON IN WAXING
GIBBOUS PHASE 99% ILLUMINATION

We were approached by a client to design and fabricate an 8’ round topographically accurate representation of the moon in its waxing gibbous phase at 99% illumination. We first created a digitally accurate 3D model, then took two 6” thick laminated blocks of XPS foam and milled away the entire surface to reveal one half of the moon at a time. We then returned the two giant pieces to the client for final assembly, embellishments, paint and finish. By machining the model so accurately on our CNC router, we were able to help the client meet their fast approaching deadlines by reducing the number of manual labor hours required to achieve such a high detail

BOMBAY SAPPHIRE BAR

Client was looking to build an irregular dodecagon (a shape with 12 faces). We cut it out of HPL (High Pressure Laminate) veneered over 3/4 inch plywood. Our attentiveness and skill in using our programming software gave us the ability by using multiple V bits and 3D milling approaches  to achieve the necessary facet angles desired. The client was happy we were able to accurately take their ideas and drawings and bring them to life dimensionally accurately with a strong visual appeal to their wacky irregular bar.
